Carole McReynolds Davis (1942-2014) — In the South, those who dare to be boldly, extravagantly different are commodities of the rarest sort. We refer to them as characters, a description that might be considered pejorative in some parts of the country, but is a term of endearment here.
Wednesday afternoon, June 18, our community lost a great, much beloved character. Carole McReynolds Davis, a voracious lover of hats, mannequins, bottle trees, painting, writing, Frank (her devoted husband), her old home on Louisville Street, the color red, Mississippi State University and all things Starkville, passed away at age 72.
